Should You Use an Employee LMS for Extended Enterprise Learning in 2019?

Primarily because employee educational goals, interests and motivations don’t apply to extended enterprise learners. The reverse is true also – there are many employee LMS features that are unneeded in extended enterprise applications. Extended enterprise learning initiatives are usually owned by different business groups than the employee LMS and thus are funded and deployed at different times. I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). D2L has an Enterprise version, I wouldn’t use it, I get why they are jumping into Corporate, hint it has to do with money (potential). Enterprise.

No Cornerstone OnDemand at the show – that was really surprising, especially since they push Learning Cloud; No Saba, again they are really pushing folks to Saba Cloud, and have stated their commitment to Learning. The system can either be self-service (which means you buy today, you can go live today – technically speaking) or more premium if you will, enterprise angle (for me, I want that hand holding – rather than self-service).
