Eurekos, Adobe Captivate Prime, Bridge, Qstream, Player Lync, 360 Learning, Assentia LMS, Skilljar, Area9 soon to be called Rhapsode (no not a misspell, but not a great name either. Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. While the learning cloud and extended enterprise cloud are purchased by folks, I still see the platform – assuming you get all the modules as a HCM. That said, they are in my top 40 for learning/extended enterprise cloud. At one time Geo was a dominate player in mid size.

At the end of the day, there are plenty of segments in the learning system market, but for this debut tourney, I tried to steer away the common ones such as best in Social/Gamification/Mobile, B2B/B2C, Enterprise (whereas the term doesn’t really apply since folks can be as low as 300 in one system, 1,000 in another and so forth), breakouts by employees i.e. SMB, Mid-Size, Large, or by verticals or by regions in the world.

The usual authoring tool players – over 120 in the space, why am I seeing the usual folks in attendance – I mean good for them, but it reinforces the gap that I see happening in the sector; LMS vendors – Hello – is anyone there? No Cornerstone OnDemand at the show – that was really surprising, especially since they push Learning Cloud; No Saba, again they are really pushing folks to Saba Cloud, and have stated their commitment to Learning.

If you want an HCM, that CoD is a definite player and one you should consider. While I do not know who WD will focus on in the market, my belief is that it will be SuccessFactors (an easy win), Cornerstone (mixed results), Oracle (victory!), SAP (if they can’t win this one, they shouldn’t be in the game), SumTotal Learn (mixed results – and how important – unknown) and to a very lesser degree Saba.
