Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. My latest take on those three vendors (plus one) are: Cornerstone On Demand – I have seen the new UI and I like what I saw. While the learning cloud and extended enterprise cloud are purchased by folks, I still see the platform – assuming you get all the modules as a HCM.

Rankings are based on my directories which are updated monthly; I also keep a separate directory which will contain more vendors than listed within the visible directories – reason being it offers clients (those who hire me – buyers to have an added bonus, of course it contains much more info); that said the monthly directories provide key info and in future updates have new columns added.

Plays quite well in Multi-Tenant (aka Extended Enterprise), SMB is its strong suite and mid-market. Good for Enterprise. . Plays well in Enterprise, mid-market, SMB/SME on the employee side, and on B2B external including training consultants/trainers too. I’m not sold on it being a B2B external system, but Enterprise, mid-market for employees absolutely. Top tier for large Enterprise and mid-market. Very good in Enterprise, mid-market and SMB.

That said, there were some hiccups and from an entire vendor wise (expo here) angle, some unique and some, uh. This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space. Vendor Time – Vendor Time. If you are a vendor and post yourselves, it won’t be considered. But I surmise, that as a whole, the reader will click the link to the vendor to see where it takes them. Sure, there are a lot of LMS vendors and other learning platforms that can slide here, but I went with systems that heavily push towards talent suites.

United States – Biggest player. Compliance – but just because a vendor says they have it, they be turning items that really aren’t into something that works. Built-in authoring tool – If you are expecting something like Storyline, forget it – not there yet; unless vendor has a partnership with an authoring tool vendor – example: Claro. In other words, depending on the vendor, it can do all that you want and need, or not.

If you have or are looking for an LMS, perhaps someone in your company or department has mentioned that this X vendor or Y vendor either isn’t known or they have never heard of them and thus it is better to go with a well-known vendor, because they must be better – I mean look at all the folks they have. How many vendors did they consider? If you want an HCM, that CoD is a definite player and one you should consider. Including vendors.
