This acquisition combines SumTotal’s proven leadership in Talent Management with GeoLearning’s comprehensive learning solutions specifically in the Mid-market, Government, and Extended Enterprise market segments.

You may heard the term, “extended enterprise” and immediately thought to yourself that it does not apply to you. Or you may see an extended enterprise which focuses on the B2B, B2C or both. I still see it as a strong system, especially for extended enterprise, but I have some minor concerns (based on feedback from some current clients) that causes me to place the system at #9. #8 Very good for extended enterprise systems and even standalone systems i.e. without going multi-tenant. SumTotal: Expensive system and what you are buying is name IMO. Saba: See SumTotal.

Assuming that your learning audience regularly visits the enterprise portal, then its great to be able to show employees upcoming learning events, training requirements, content that might be of interest, or other similar things. Then went microlearning courseware with LMS tossed in, with what I see as a target towards Enterprise (IMO). SumTotal Learn now includes a bundle of courses as part of your purchase. Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. While the learning cloud and extended enterprise cloud are purchased by folks, I still see the platform – assuming you get all the modules as a HCM. That said, they are in my top 40 for learning/extended enterprise cloud. There is nothing like interaction.

It has become an add-on fee for many vendors, and even worse, many of whom have an “extended enterprise&# or multi-tenet system (or advertise that option). Let me be clear on this, in order to have extended enterprise, you need e-commerce. I am still hearing of problems with Captivate 5 and SumTotal. Hopefully, SumTotal will release an update to solve this.

SumTotal? It works for their Total LMS (Enterprise) and for their Geo Learning Maestro. As I write on my iPad, thoughts swirl abound. With all these vendors talking about their solution and its capabilities on mobile devices, it should be easy to find an app for that. Regardless if the vendor is m-learning specific, content authoring tool, LMS, web conferencing or a hybrid. It shouldn’t matter.
