Cammy Beans Learning Visions: Writing Less Objectionable Learning Objectives

Learning Visions

Belatedly, Im thinking that there are relatively easy ways to enable learners to have cake or to eat it as they see fit. Im not sure I suggested writing WIIFM learning objectives, but they probably have their uses. Why do we have one objective for multiple audiences (learners, developers, evaluators)? Will, Im curious to hear your thoughts on using some of these alternative forms for presenting objectives (be they focusing objectives or performance objectives).

Good Writing

Tony Karrer

The good news these days for my kids is that there is often a rubric (set of evaluation criteria) that are used to grade their writing. It's also a skill that most all of us who have gone through the education system need to work on. I wonder what the impact of IM and txting will have on writing. What is Good Writing? Rubrics and Good Writing One of my favorite conversation topics is always looking at how school has changed from when I went through.

Evaluation and grading at both the individual and the group level can be used to promote this kind of dual accountability, but care should be taken so that personal progress is not just a matter of independent work, but is also tied with the group’s progress as a whole. This is a great way to improve your employees’ social and collaborative skills, as well as their division of labor and problem solving approaches, among other things.
