I respond, 'well I'm becoming more and more interested in the use of social media and microblogging for learning', I then get puzzled looks that say, "too much time on your hands", "what is he talking about?" For me though I see a real role for social media as a platform for business learning. and they nod politely!

In terms of finding people with experience on this, my first suggestion was using LinkedIn and particularly looking through LinkedIn Guide for Knowledge Workers , LinkedIn for Finding Expertise , and Searching for Expertise - LinkedIn Answers. This is in process. I’ll also reach out via twitter.

Yammer (internal twittering) is almost impossible to explain to someone who has no experience with any social networking (and probably not with anything more than email lists). As a side note, I think selling Twitter/Yammer is harder than selling social bookmarking and wikis. Many of the suggestions in Learning 2.0
