Product Review: Knoodle

eLearning 24-7

Confusing once you dive into the product – see below. Problems with recording audio. Problems abound within the product – not bugs mind you, just poor processes (IMO). One of the features I do love about the product is the ability to drag and drop – yet this is the only screen you can do it from. Ability to play on the screen, rather than click Preview to do so – which is how the product is set up. This product was far from it.

Product Review: Totara

eLearning 24-7

Blog – This was on the trial and for a nice product like this – it should be removed for the trial. Unless their is some group component here or the psuedo Facebook angle, I see no real gain. While that makes sense, what hurts the product is the overkill of information. I know Totara is going to say that the product is built on open source and the folks who are buying it know the technical aspects/Moodle and thus this isn’t an issue.

Product Review: Mindflash.com

eLearning 24-7

The product continues to add new features that overall are surprisingly solid. However, they continue to incorporate some instructor led training components, which is a disservice to an otherwise nice product. This is really a very nice and easy to use feature with the Mindflash product. One item that I found very cool with Mindflash is the ability to share the course via Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and e-mail. The problem with Mindflash.com, it’s not.

Product Review: Mzinga OmniSocial

eLearning 24-7

Because it offers the capability to start out using it either as the robust social learning product and ignore the LMS part (inc. the content authoring) OR use it as a LMS with the social learning functionality OR pick a piece here or there and then as you grow and expand, you can choose to turn it into your social learning solution or as the social learning management product. The Death of the Traditional Web: Implications for Self-Directed Learning

Dashe & Thomson

Within that shrinking slice of online time, Facebook is increasingly the portal for everything. Product Review: MyUdutu, Udutu Teach, Udutu Learn

eLearning 24-7

Product Review. MyUdutu is the authoring tool that is free, with typical rapid e-learning authoring components but with a unique twist – after completing the course you can either publish live, publish to your LMS – zipped file via a SCORM wrapper or publish to Facebook. You heard right, Facebook. If you place it into Facebook, you cannot tie it back into your LMS; so you would have to use an API and create an extension from your LMS into Facebook for the course(s).
