Before Open Office I used Office 2010 and, while it did everything I needed it to do I switched to Open Office when Microsoft ended mainstream support for Office 2010 a couple of years ago Quick hint – if Microsoft, Apple, or whoever end of lifes a product and is no longer release security updates it’s time to upgrade or find another tool.

When I first learned web design it was aggravating to get a site working perfectly in Firefox and Safari, than opening up in Internet Explorer 6. I have upgraded long ago, and don’t have any old machines. No matter how hard you follow best practices of web design it’s always broken in another browser. I hate IE 6.

People who used to depend on it can no longer expect any updates or upgrades in the future. We also had the Readium Chrome Application and support for Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. Readium Web may not see any upgrades and lose its significance with the advance in digital publishing technology.

This is true for any browser, including Chrome, IE, or Firefox. When I re-uploaded the revised file back into our LMS/FTP, the course no longer loads (I just see a spinning circle that goes on forever). Other folks from our organization has had similar issues when updating to the 2019 version.

Some home users are upgrading to 32 bit OS of Windows 7 as well. And yes, Firefox supports 64 bit. Firefox 3.0+. Go to the store and you will see the laptops and home desktops coming out with the 64 bit version home OS, better yet, there is a 64 bit browser for IE, which is slightly different than the regular IE browser.

So I upgraded my iPhone firmware to 2.0 So I'm also looking at Zotero - thanks to some fine cub reporting by Mike Lambert - this is a handy extension to Firefox 3 (don't you just love innovative browsers?). and yes, I have been jamming apps on it ever since. Evernote has a Windows, Mac, Web and mobile version.

IE though retained its dominance of usage, even with Firefox. So if your organization has not upgraded to Microsoft 365, formally known as Office 365, you need to do so, to use Topics. I never cared for IE, and would use alternative browsers when ever possible, Maxathon (still around), Opera (still around), Avant to mention a few.

I'm going to include IE7 under this heading, which is probably the tool I use the most after Outlook – the improvements such as tabbed browsing mean that it has caught up with Firefox (sounds like some form of heresy). It looks so cool it was definitely worth upgrading from Photoshop Elements. It seems absolutely fine.

I can barely run Opera or Firefox with a few tabs open on an Intel Core Duo 2.16 Hey, I've got Office, can use Safari or Firefox to almost all web-based things like web-confs. Im serious. According to InfoQ, both Android and iOS have recently received upgrades that enable some HTML5 functionality and increase what the language is capable of on devices sporting those operating systems. According to a separate InfoQ piece, the Mozilla Firefox browser is in line for an upgrade to its own HTML5 compatibility.

Browser extensions via a bookmarklet availble for Chrome, FireFox, Edge and I believe Safari (but ask on that one). Video sharing by Learners is coming in the next upgrade, so another wonderful win. Still needs some fixes to it, and too much tech jargon, but compared to other vendor support mobile apps, by far the best. Ties into xAPI.
