Snap! by Lectora Review

Integrated Learnings

Primarily it is a PowerPoint to Flash conversion tool with additional features for eLearning development such as narration recording , quiz assessments , and LMS publishing. Since Snap is a PowerPoint add-on, it exists inside PowerPoint as an additional option on the "Ribbon" menu. This allows users to easily convert new or existing PowerPoint presentations into rapid eLearning courses. Inserting additional objects into PowerPoint has always been a pain.

Adobe Captivate

Couple of key feature enhancements that I’m very excited about in this update are: Improved PowerPoint Conversion and PPTX format support: This update would include support for various PowerPoint SmartArt Animations. It would now be possible to work with and synchronize PowerPoint SmartArt animations. This release would include enhancements for improving the flash conversion fidelity of embedded images in PowerPoint.

Tony Karrer

The term "Rapid eLearning" has taken on a life of its own and now normally means: rapid creation of courseware by people who are less experienced with courseware development particularly subject matter experts and if you are around the industry much, you realize that it's been taken over by two main types of solutions: PowerPoint -> Courseware and Form-based Authoring tools.

eLearning Development

Flash CS4 Professional. Articulate Presenter is arguably the most popular PowerPoint to Flash conversion tool available. It’s also an easy way to create Flash animations from slides. If you don’t already have the Flash Video Encoder (which comes with Flash) then this tool will be useful. It works fine, I just prefer Flash Video Encoder. It looks like it’s time to open up the wallet and start purchasing software upgrades.
