Ok some good news!!! the hot fix is ready. Here are the steps for using the hot fix: On Windows: 1. Close Adobe Captivate 5.0 if already running. 2. Go to the captivate installation folder. 3. Find the file CPAnimationUtils.dll and rename it to CPAnimationUtils_old.dll. 4. Download the CPAnimationUtils.zip from here and extract the CPAnimationUtils.dll.

Today Adobe announced they will be releasing Flash Player 10.1, which will extend the use of Flash on mobile devices. And RIM has added its Blackberry to the list of devices that will run this newest version of Flash Player. And with Flash 10.1, we probably won't need, or hear about, Flash Lite any longer. Last week, while justifying Apple’s refusal to allow Flash player on iPhone/iPad, Steve Jobs wrote– “ New open standards created in the mobile era, such as HTML5, will win on mobile devices (and PCs too) ”. More specifically- Is it ready to compete with Flash for eLearning Development? I think HTML5 still has some real constraints and it may not replace Flash for eLearning/mLearning development in near future. In fact I believe it may not replace Flash at all.

Looks like a desire to speed up their open-source development around the Flash platform. We advocate the need of openness at Adobe especially for their Flash runtimes. Adobe has some great development tools like Flash Builder, Flash CS5 which target the runtimes – Flash Player and Adobe AIR. Although Adobe has a range of open-source projects they haven’t yet fully “opened” both the Flash runtimes.

I download a trial version of Adobe Captivate 2019 from Adobe site, when I try to install it on my PC, it gives me a blank screen, only CP logo, I take the same files and try to install it on my brother’s PC, it works without any problem. My laptop is: Dell precision M6500, windows 7, 8GB Rams, last version of Flash Player installed, Java installed, and I have more than 100 free space in PC system drive.

Those of you have heard of HTML 5 will know it’s a new version of HTML and XHTML being promoted by Google and Apple in a bid to move the web away from proprietary technologies like Flash, Silverlight and JavaFX. The roadmap was interesting because it points to some items that could possibly impact how we use Flash for delivering eLearning. I have tried multiple file types (mp4 and flv), both input variations (event and synchronized) and multiple flash output versions (10.x I have checked to ensure that my flash player is up-to-date in my browser (IE) also. I am attempting to embed short (10 sec) video files to a captivate 2019 project and publish it as an swf file. When viewing the swf file, the videos appear to be attempting to load (i get loader icon indications) but the video never loads.
