Adobe Flash - The initial interface was built in Flash. However, the Flash movie sits within Articulate Presenter and navigates to an assessment made in Articulate Quizmaker which also sits within the same Presenter project (more on this later). Adobe Captivate - I used this for creating every simulation in the course.

I don’t find developing software simulations to be particularly rewarding, for example, because there often isn’t a ton of creativity. A: I wouldn’t learn Flash right now. The learning curve is too steep, and within a few years I think most work will be in HTML5. Most Flash e-learning now is done with rapid tools anyway.

One Acrobat.com service I thought about was having a light-weight version of Adobe Captivate as part of Acrobat.com that would enable customers to do simple screen recordings or even software simulations, that could be shared and posted everywhere, on YouTube for example, or even right on Acrobat.com somehow.

It can easily be published to a platform like YouTube or Vimeo, reaching a wide public (for free); is also a disadvantage however because of the lack of curation which makes it difficult to find valuable videos in the ‘crowd’ As with most social media there is more ‘fake’ around than valuable stuff.

No wonder they have thousands of superfans, who rave about their products and who recommend them to their peers via Social Media Networks. Storyline approaches making software simulations in a whole new ways as compared to Adobe Captivate. HTML5, Flash and Mobile Learning.
