When I used to look at software purchases with previous employers, it struck me that some of the more sophisticated authoring solutions were almost at a point where it was just better to learn Flash than to learn a proprietary authoring language. The challenge in all of this is that rapid elearning has to bring real value and isn’t just a bunch of PowerPoint files converted to Flash and then put online. One of the problems when converting slides to Flash is that thin lines can lose their clarity. Part of instructional design is to make the content relevant to the learner. Remember, people aren’t robots that just scan the screen for data. Do what you can to clean it up and make it more impactful.
