Some (mostly tech inclined) people get hung up about the linearity of Moodle, so let me just briefly mention it here before tackling learning design. Moodle is designed in a way which encourages designers to create learning paths or journeys. If you’re designing a course that focuses more on individual learning and you and your target group aren’t so much into linear, there are many ways to use a more ‘boxed’ approach in Moodle too. Don’t use the Moodle groups setting for online team work

The eLearning Nomad

When designing eWorkshops in Moodle, I never use the groups setting in forums. Instead, I create a separate forum for each team. I’m sometimes challenged for keeping the forums open and visible to all. When team forums are hidden, it’s quite disconcerting for people to see three quarters of the whole group ‘disappear’ The page ends up looking empty and the community spirit, which a facilitator has been able to nurture, fades away.

3 Reasons Why WordPress is Better than Moodle

LearnDash

Taking a page out of the WordPress model, Moodle’s free and open-source offering is an attractive option for organizations big and small… but is it the best? Moodle is a major player, but that doesn’t always equate to the best option. I am by no means claiming that WordPress based LMS should be chosen over Moodle in all situations – that’s silly as we all know that a one-size fits all approach isn’t really practical.

Publishing a responsive project to Moodle (Html only)

Adobe Captivate

Right now im struggeling to 1) publish my project as a html-only version and get it to work on moodle (optimally with LMS SCORM 1.2). Secondly, when I upload the zip to our Moodle and use the build-in “learning package” option it only chooses the flash files. So far the only option I found to use captivate on moodle together with LMS is ths learning package. Uploading the index.scorm.html file as a “link/url” to moodle works but not with lms.
