Prodigy (the first portal, pre-CompuServe and AOL -for home use), modem was 4800 bytes. Heck, I was in a doctorate program, whereas the majority of the ‘courses’ was via Lotus Notes, the other was ILT. Again, just as it is today, the client, the person who is overseeing the e-learning program, can go assigned or not.
