If you’re planning to record audio, here’s where you select your microphone. The microphone button controls whether or not audio is recorded as part of your presentation. When you enable it, you’ll be able to record voice narration using a microphone. For this sort of recording, I’d recommend using Snagit.

These are in no particular order, however, I have had personally used Screenflow, Camtasia Screenpal (formerly Screencast-O-Matic) and SnagIt and of the three I still use Screenflow to this day. It also allows you to record audio from multiple sources, including your microphone and system audio. for a single license.
