Typically an add-on module – i.e. extra cost. the front end, admin end and everything in between, plus screen shots.

Secondly, many systems in the early 2000s offered groups, chat, discussion boards/forums and other capabilities that are social in nature. One of my favorite early vendors was GeoLearning. We didn’t call it micro, we just called it short or mini-modules. They offered informal learning. Micro-Learning. Not a new concept.

A couple of vendors have added HRIS modules. New features in this space include workforce management, compensation/payroll and benefits as part of their modules. I am projecting that by the end of 2012, you will see HRIS features come into play, but more so as an additional cost module. Why more features on the side of HR?

They feel the best way to address social, informal learning (powered by social media) is not to integrate it into an LMS. Q: What ( if any) social media tools is Latitude incorporating into their LMS? Tacking on social media tools to an LMS might not create this environment. So the CMS is the front end, not the LMS.
