More vendors enabling the use of APIs – i.e. people can create their own API and integrate them into the LMS/Learning Portal vendor’s system, this equally means you can create mashups too.

CMSs, learning portals geared only are not on the list. Open Source LMSs are not on the list, you can find this information here. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle and HRIS systems; thus if you have one of those systems you are now open to a greater number of vendors, rather then staying with your ERP or HRIS provider. Two vendors – Plateau and GeoLearning products will be reviewed and presented to you in the next three weeks. Contains over 200 systems.

Equally of interest, are the increase in open source systems that offer for a fee, hosting on their own servers, rather than on yours. In some cases it is merely opening up the browser window, after you click on the app – which is self defeating the purpose of an app. Open Source Systems. Here is my list of the top three open source systems in the education/academia market. GeoLearning’s Maestro product is now called SumTotal Maestro.
