Product Review: GeoLearning GeoMaestro

GeoLearning’s GeoMaestro is a LMS that packs a wallop but at the same time has some features that provide limitations. While the solution delivers more than enough for a LMS and the company gets “it&# for where the industry needs to go, GeoLearning has made some interesting decisions with GeoMaestro that to say the least is bewildering. What is really nice about GeoMaestro is that GeoLearning has thought long and hard about this issue and has solved it.

Of all commercial LMSs, I probably have the most hands-on experience with GeoLearning ’s various products and services having managed an enterprise implementation several years ago. It was a multi-phase implementation (LMS, LCMS, Talent Management) that went off pretty smooth and the team at GeoLearning was great to work with. Anyway, GeoLearning’s LMS is pretty super too (AWESOME transition, huh?).

I’ve said before that my needs for an LMS are pretty simple - basic tracking, nothing fancy. Then last week some people who are starting up an internal training program came to me asking what I use to track online courses. In terms of what I’ve seen lately, GeoLearning was the last product I looked at. My current research project of finding an LMS continues, albeit slowly.
