I always say Google has been around since 1996, and no one says they are traditional. Learn.com – First a content aggregator, then jumped into the LMS market, acquired by Taleo, who promised to invest heavily. If you ever wondered what down the tubes look like, look no further than Learn.com. That didn’t happen.

Learn.com – They came a bit later, but there is a good story, and yes, they still exist. Learn.com started out as an LMS. Taleo promised to invest big $$$ to make Learn.com amazing. The Learn.com former system, is still there, under the Oracle brand, which uh, yeah, not sure, how that looks. Blackboard.

When I was at LTUK a couple of weeks ago, a vendor who was giving a presentation, showed a slide with Learn.com on it, as though their tool worked with it or something like that, uh Learn.com hasn’t been around in like five plus years. Assessment tool, integrations such as Google Drive, Zapier and Office 365 are pluses.

Remember, Taleo purchased Learn.com, another vendor is integrating with SuccessFactors, and there are plenty of LMS vendors who are moving more into the TM space, so creating a mini HRIS system is smart business. This goes beyond the standard repository of a CMS, which seems in-personal. Having my own virtual desk, is personal. I like that.
