As an analogy, I view the Behavior Engineering Model similar to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. With Maslow’s hierarchy, a person must address the lowest tier of needs before they can focus on anything in the next row up. They should also be provided clear and relevant guidelines regarding adequate behavior.

Here''s the process: Students are introduced to a new concept, presented with some basic content and guidelines, and asked to go away and research more deeply around their topic. One recent assessment method I have used is to get students to make videos. Each student in the group is given a different topic to research.
