In 2003, the eLearning startup I worked for shuttered its doors as our customers moved to adopt SCORM, and we had no idea how to do that. If anyone was going to address mobile, social media, games, simulations or any other use cases, it would need to be outside of SCORM. xAPI is a transformational idea.
