If your client wants you to get an elearning module built based on storyboards developed in-house, make sure it’s clear that your work is entirely dependent on their work. Ask for sign-off on the success factors from all the key people, whether you’ll meet them or not (this helps your immediate contact, too, which is pretty handy).

Development: Total storyboard development time was apparently in the range of 20 – 40 hours, which isn’t bad given the number of interwoven pathways. eLearning doesn’t really measure, or have the capacity to measure, “Kirkpatrick Level 3 – Transfer of knowledge”, let alone think about Level 4. In my professional experience eLearning is primarily used to replace Instructor Led Training (ILT) or deliver a rapid deployment of a consistent message. Next, always always always storyboard!
