Low Cost LMS - Help Needed

I received an inquiry about the need for a low cost LMS solution and I've not had time to help this person with answers. We have roughly 500 learners and would use the LMS for mainly tracking and registration of ILT courses, communication (possibly through message boards), and posting of class materials. The development of e-Learning is being done through Captivate, so I do not need a system with authoring capabilities. costs that can exceed license costs.

If you have been in the e-learning space for at least three months, you will probably have realized that it is an industry whereas what one word or term means in X, means something different in Y. E-Learning – It is an umbrella term. It means what it says – online learning. M-Learning – Unless vendor specifies it only means that you can view their platform via a mobile device (browser). Does not mean games nor the ILT approach of gamification.

Surprised at the low number of LMS vendors here. I was surprised at the number of vendors offering a blended product – with ILT as more of the focus then their WBT counterpart. This is one of those blended learning solutions, I previously noted. While there were some things that made me think, uh oh, for the most part it has potential – especially in the education/academia space – for the online components, not ILT. E-Learning 24/7.
