I will go thru several areas for e-learning, not just learning systems, although by far, it will be the most, since a lot has happened in 2020. . But overall, in my opinion, EdTech also showed all its weaknesses front and center, and way too many vendors were unprepared for the numbers of schools, universities, colleges, etc.

They continue to muddle up the learning system space. The way a 3rd party content provider works with an LXP (or any learning system that offers a marketplace) is that they have a partnership agreement – allowing the vendor to have them in their marketplace. I felt that having awards only for learning systems, wasn’t enough, because off-the-shelf content plays a huge role. In all seriousness, without content you wouldn’t need a learning system of any sort, just give folks binders of paper (like the old days). After all, without content what do you have?

What irked my brain on a recent press release was that the vendor announced they would have over 12,000 courses from Linkedin Learning (it is the Lynda.com courses/content) in their (the vendor’s) system. .
