Personalized Learning Experience (PLE). You may know more of it as personalization or localization, but if you take a real deep dive you will see more vendors going PLE. The PLE is all about the learners as it should be and achieving PLE includes the following: Widgets – select as few or as many for each learner (BTW, expect more systems to offer widgets or something similar in 2016). But for PLE, it is goes to the next tier.

It is the first key step to having a PLE (A LMS within an LMS, whereas the LMS is your learner – as in a Personal Learning Environment). Let’s see: on/off snych, geolocation (perfect for OJT and ILT), manager and instructor features within their app. Thank you all for the delay. It’s been a long few weeks, putting together the 2016 Top 50 LMS Report. Before, I jump into the Top 10 for 2016, some interesting bits of info.

It is my belief and has been, that the reason these systems, regardless of who they are, fail for the students, in the long run, is the synchronous approach which is nothing more than sticking the ILT classroom approach online. . I’m not buying the PLE, but as noted above, “Adaptive Learning” is going more along those lines, which again, to me, it is not the same. . A good tiding to you all. Ahh, the new year. A year of opportunities. Thrills and fun awaits you.

Some notes: Polls: Most attending work in L&D with some HR, IT, and learning services providers Most attending work in organization with 2000+ ee’s but several were SMBs (under 2K ee’s for this presentation) Current learning delivery channels primarily ILT classroom and ILT online as well as a fair amount of self-paced e-learning. Coming back after a week of being mostly disconnected I'm woefully behind on email and even more so on my reading.
