Do you use audio on every slide because the client says people will think its broken if you dont? As Im ramping up in my new job, Im talking with my new Kineo colleagues about everything under the sun. Is there some historical background here that Im missing, like computers in the UK didnt have speakers until 2002 so they never bothered? Her slide "People Learn Differently" looks very similar to Loewens Playground Theory. I usually lunge for the mute button, but often I still have to wait for the now-silent narration to finish before Im allowed to move on. Im with you. I think Im still hung up a bit on feeling the need to have some text representation on the screen to reinforce the audio and provide a point of reference -- even when theres an animation on the screen.

If my interest (or need) is high enough, at first nearly any podcast on the topic will do, and delivery wont matter much.
