Images: Select a picture on any slide and go to the Picture Tools Format tab on the ribbon. This flattens the info to a static image file, completely stripping out all underlying data and removing any chance that something could be uncovered later. Instead of covering up the offending content, you can blur it out, so you don’t ruin the aesthetic of the image. Blurring works with photos, too!

Sometimes finding the right images can be more difficult than originally anticipated. Your images must add value to the course, whether it is a graph or chart explaining the information, or just an example photo that the student can relate to. Do find quality images. Avoid using blurry or pixelated images within your courses. Rather than looking unprofessional or distracting your students, either use quality images or none at all.

The first slide has the image, the ‘to be’ text and a grey box. The second slide has the image, the ‘or not to be’ text, and an orange box. Clearly the image is the same, just shifted a little to the left, so that it moves slightly during the morph transition. But the main change is that an image appears within the space created by the growing white boxes. You can use the black grab handles to cut off the image. Welcome to the playground of my imagination!

On every card you write down in keywords what you would like to narrate and what you would like to show as images. You should realize that there is a difference between screencasts with Picture in Picture (PIP) whereby you see the person talking in the screen (like the one above), and others whereby you don't see the presentor.

Even the camera choice is secondary to proper lighting, as even an expensive camera will produce a poor image in extreme low light. While these cameras require a higher investment, and are harder to transport, the image quality is often worth the effort. If you have a camera that shoots video and photos (like a DSLR) don’t forget to switch to photography mode and get high quality stills too. If you don’t have a DSLR, use your smartphone to take pictures.
