Adding an image to your course increases the value to learners if done right. Often, most eLearning images we find aren’t perfect, and a little editing may be necessary. But what if you’re not a Photoshop whiz or own a separate image editing software? Add an Image. Rename the Image.

Designers who work in Rise likely already know that they need to select cover photos that look good on many different devices and in an extreme range of aspect ratios, from very horizontal to nearly square. The new themes help solve that with cover photos that appear in very similar aspect ratios, no matter the device. Navigation.

You also need to make sure the design doesn’t conflict with your course content and images. Many of you already use tools like Photoshop to create your graphics. GIMP : solid Photoshop alternative.

Dave led a day-long seminar on his version of complexity in San Francisco today. Now, there is also Mixable (see image above). Forget Photoshop, PowerPoint 2010 Rocks for AHA-G! YouTube has lots of versions of these fairy tales. I’m still absorbing the implications. This is brilliant, important work. Figure 1 1.

This slide also uses a “standard” 4:3 aspect ratio instead of the more modern widescreen size (16:9). So, I downloaded some free images from Pixabay. To add punch, I created shapes to serve as backgrounds, filling them with colors extracted from the images using PowerPoint’s eyedropper tool. After (1 of 7).
