If the PNG compressor doesn't optimize color depth, or uses non-aggressive DEFLATE compression it can produce PNG's that are up to 90% bloat. A Simple Hack to get Beveled Edges for Shapes, Text Captions and Images

Set your colors and shapes and desired bevel and then grab the shape with your screen capture tool and save your image. Here is one such beveled shape image: Pick your desired shape and set the color, bevel desired, Etc. Save as BMP or PNG.
