First off, I have to say that this entire PLE conversation hasnt really sparked much for me. Im a practical person at heart; not a theory-based one). Maybe it was even "personal learning" before the term PLE came along. With PLEs, there may be just way too much personal learning happening on company time for a CEOs comfort.

A PLE can be messy. But Im learning. Im just back from two this week, and presented yesterday at USQs Pedagogies and Learning Conference in Brisbane. Forget about it. e-Learning should be all neat and tied up in a nice wrapper with a Next button that moves you through a content checklist and a great assessment at the end.
