Introduction

Ever since writing the Inclusive Learning Pledge, my vision was to build out resources and support for learning and development professionals to help us all be champions of inclusion and agents for change.

I had to put this work on hold for a while, but it simply cannot wait any longer. I am committed more than ever to my mission to build a more inclusive world, one learning experience at a time. If that mission excites you too, be sure to sign the pledge if you haven’t already.

As one part of many more exciting things to come, we have launched a new YouTube channel, run by our sister site, inclusiveLXD. The channel will share actionable tips, guidance, and resources to help learning and development professionals be more inclusive.

Please join me in celebrating the channel launch by watching our first video, “5 Easy Ways to Be More Inclusive,” embedded below.

Help keep the momentum going by subscribing and sharing. It will mean so much to me to know there’s a community of us in L&D who want to help create a more inclusive world for all of us.

  3. Unlock the navigation.
  4. Use inclusive language.
  5. Use plain language principles.

Announcement

Do you struggle with simplifying dense, wordy information for learners? Have you always wanted to get better at writing instructional content using plain language? Do you want to learn about developing more inclusive and accessible documents and instructor-led materials?

I am putting together the inclusiveLXD MasterClass in Writing, which will help improve written communications through the triple lens of:

  1. Learner-centered instructional design/learning experience design
  2. Inclusion
  3. Accessibility

Be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel and keep watching this blog for more information to come. And I’d love to know your thoughts on what you’d like to see included in the program.
