What a Corker

Learning with e's

I did a dry run using the 'It's personal' slides, which I was to use later for the PLE/PLN online symposium. The evening Elluminate session for the PLE/PLN online symposium , organised by Stephen Downes, George Siemens and Rita Kop, was a different affair entirely. Personal Learning Knowledge Work Environment

Tony Karrer

What this has come to make me realize is that for the vast majority of knowledge workers (including myself), there should be no separation between my Personal Learning Environment (PLE), my Personal Knowledge Management system, and my day-to-day set of tools that enhance my knowledge worker productivity. Certainly PLE and PKM would seem to be too limited, right? Central to my PLE is the people I work with and the applications I use for communication with those people.

Saudi Arabia, E-Learning and What’s Next (the industry)

eLearning 24-7

A great chap who provided a new perspective of PLE (private learning environments) for students, which in simplest terms, is the idea that each student would become their own LMS. It’s logical and in some ways it is already happening with personalized and localized approach/design with many LMSs (on the business side). I admit it. The apprehension was there. Uncertainty. Unknown. Rumors. Tell you friends you are going to Saudi Arabia to speak, and they are stunned.

Heck, let’s toss in your local library – it offers the same bang for the buck (Free). I’m not buying the PLE, but as noted above, “Adaptive Learning” is going more along those lines, which again, to me, it is not the same. . A good tiding to you all. Ahh, the new year. A year of opportunities. Thrills and fun awaits you. At least while you sleep. Then you awake and wonder “is my K-12 LMS really meeting our needs?”
