This was my third TK in a row to attend, and as usual it contained some WOW on the part of some products, some “huh” on others and even a few “boos” Overall Expo Analysis. Nice selection of vendors – in general. Wi-Fi worked a lot better, but vendors and end users still had issues inside the expo hall.

Confusing once you dive into the product – see below. Problems abound within the product – not bugs mind you, just poor processes (IMO). One of the features I do love about the product is the ability to drag and drop – yet this is the only screen you can do it from. This product was far from it.

Three months ago, only a few systems had either integrated for no additional charge or for additional fees, a talent management/performance management feature set. There is a growing list of vendors, including small/mid size that are adding talent management components that match the Big Dog systems. What do you do? Prediction.

One vendor with 750 users, priced out at nearly 24K a year; another close to 11.5K – thus depends on users is a factor. These systems are ideal for someone who wants a basic system, with some features but does not seek a robust system (which you can find in the price range in 12-25K SAAS based btw). their system.

I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. Perhaps they are unaware of online authoring systems offering assessment features. This will become one of the biggest features in 2012 – especially with people wanting to create simulations without being an e-learning developer.

elearning maker - another product form e-doceo; screenwriting, storyboards, media inserts, selection and moving of elements plus more; a beginner could use some of the features, but a developer has some additional capabilities and flexibilities. documentary maker and iPhone/iPad/iPod touch developer kit. It’s free. Bottom Line.
