I learned about the benefits of having a longer recording time than with Jing, and I could add an extra bit of polish in client tutorials and documentation. We built the system to track independently-living, elderly people, as well as MDCH funding for nonprofits that care for these community members.

I have been a Camtasia fan for a long time, as well as a SnagIt and Jing fan and I’m also very impressed with the work TechSmith is doing on Mobile. Also, for these examples, I chose not to enable Quiz tracking, but Camtasia 8 does provide email and SCORM support for tracking. What Else is New?

Thomas: For those that use Tickspot for time tracking, Tick Desktop Timer is an essential tool for professionals that find tracking their time to be a hassle. While Jing has been my go-to option for quickly responding to questions, Camtasia does seem to offer more polish. We know that every client deserves a personalized answer.

Before using Camtasia, we recorded with Jing, which had a five minute time limit per video. Splitting the clip onto a second track and adding a fade transition smoothed out the viewing experience. I also love the automatic zoom in feature that helps track and focus on your mouse movements. Gravity Works.

We've used Jing many times to produce CMS training tutorials for our clients. The pixels captured on a screen are important because we can track receipts, pass on funny cat pictures, explain ideas, and understand the people we work with every day.
