Easily select any window or region you would like to record, and Jing will capture everything that happens in that area. We had a chance to catch up with Renaun Erickson , a RIA developer at Adobe and who is also the driving force behind Structured Log Testing , an open source project for RIA Flash platform developers. Renaun shared with us the benefits of visual communication for him and how he needed a little more than Jing for his screencasting (he hit the 5 minute limit). Brooks Andrus and I are having a great time at 360|Flex today!

Open Office. I keep hearing good things about Open Office. To create a.pdf, just use the print command from the source program that the file was created in. It’s open source software, yet actually has some Help documentation. Jing works on both Mac and PC, to capture single pictures or to record video of screen activity. Free, open source and all that good stuff.

Jing is a screen-capture and screencasting tool that I’ve mentioned before. The basic version is free and I can’t say enough about how much I love Jing. If you want to get fancy, there are a few YouTube-like systems you can set up at your organization to house video: PHPMotion (open source) and ClipShare are two examples.
