If your client wants you to get an elearning module built based on storyboards developed in-house, make sure it’s clear that your work is entirely dependent on their work. Ask for sign-off on the success factors from all the key people, whether you’ll meet them or not (this helps your immediate contact, too, which is pretty handy).

Development: Total storyboard development time was apparently in the range of 20 – 40 hours, which isn’t bad given the number of interwoven pathways. Cathy cites research that indicates soldiers prefer this format to all other types of training except video (which wasn’t an option due to budget). Jim: Glad you found the post helpful, Jeff!

Kirkpatrick Model. The Kirkpatrick model is a standard used for evaluating the results of the training programs. A module comprises course materials such as videos, documents, SCORM files, exams or surveys. Storyboard. A storyboard is an outline or a roughly sketched frame that helps with building the course.
