Theories do not help us to expand our awareness and understanding of learning; they serve to reduce and confine it. I can see how theorists might argue that reading text aloud to the learner addresses multiple "learning styles," but the real-world experience is one of frustration: you want to read ahead but you cant because the narrator reads more slowly than you do. Its also a bad idea if you believe (as I do) that learners should be in control as much as possible.

Activity Providers always need to know who a learner is in order to send the LRS data about that learner, which can either be done by having the learner log into the activity provider, or some kind of launch/single-sign-on process.
