The Changing Face of Work and Workplace Learning

ID Reflections

Each member will bring their expertise to bear and share their knowledge and experiences. L&D will have to don the hat of community managers and become learners. It will be a participative ecosystem with knowledge and skills being freely shared. Again, I go back to the notion of L&D becoming community managers. I am not the kind to crystal gaze. I lay no claim to being able to predict the future.

Integrating Social Learning In The Workplace

Learnnovators

Nor can one be sent off to attend a class on social learning. The history of outsourcing to off-shoring to automation is now well known. However, while technology advanced forcing us to work differently, the human mindset and the accompanying organizational management models did not. And this takes us back to Taylor, command and control, hierarchy, and the other well-known and esteemed pillars of modern day management.

A Conversation with Stephanie Nadda

Kapp Notes

Nadda: I would call out three main areas: Integrate the technologies that support learning management (LMS, LCMS, content authoring) and knowledge management (CMS, KMS, enterprise search, etc.). Our end goal should always be to support the user i.e., get the user to the information at the point of need regardless of whether that information is categorized as “knowledge” or “learning.”. Early in my career, I was promoted to manage a group of 4 software developers.
