Innovation at the Intersection of Technology and Teaching

TechSmith Camtasia

Director of Learning Technology Solutions Leif Nelson shares models of innovation, practical experience with managing change, and thoughts about where innovative teaching and technology will converge in higher education. This focus on the people-side of adoption is similar to the technology acceptance model. The technology acceptance model (Davis, 1989) theorizes what leads people to accept new tech.

Show and TEL

Learning with e's

I spent some time at the University of Plymouth's Technology Enhanced Learning Showcase today, which featured the best of a number of in-house led initiatives in e-learning. I went to a couple of sessions on podcasting and digital identity, which were short demonstrations of what lessons have been learnt so far during research and teaching fellowship activities. It's full of information, and also houses all of the learning technologists' blogs.

Your Training Edge

Although the mere idea of using MOOCs requires a shift in how organizations think about their training programs, much of the infrastructure already exists: more than 70% of companies have a learning management system (LMS) in place, and as of 2011 77% of corporations were already using online learning in their training programs. Customization and Adaptive Learning. Many MOOCs are built using open educational resources (OER) or a combination of OER and proprietary content.

Learning with e's

It promises to be another great gathering of the learning technology community. It's the gathering point for the e-learning glitterati at the end of November/beginning of December every year. I also hosted 2 workshops during Day 3, on Teaching with Twitter, and Learning in a Web 2.0 I also recorded an Edtalk on OER for the Core Ed people who were running the conference.
