The second is LearnTrends 2009 , November 17-19, with the theme of “Convergence in Workplace Learning.&# This is geared mostly for K-12 teachers and leaders.

Tom Stone: One big advantage to getting the informal/social learning to be technology mediated is that it is then captured, searchable, and has much greater reach beyond the two people talking in the hallway. Free Learning may not be as high a quality – although I would claim that LearnTrends and WorkLiteracy filled niches.

I was surprised by the fear and loathing expressed around SharePoint yesterday at LearnTrends 2009. eLearning Technology. I don’t think it’s the best tool out there, but it likely is the best tool being adopted by your IT department and is part of the Enterprise 2.0 plan in your organization. for many workplace learning professionals.
