Social – Snooze. Use of PowerPoint in rapid content authoring tools – this has been a big irritant of mine, since the days when PPT first made its appearance in rapid content authoring tools. Some vendors use chapter-page approach with PPT, but there are plenty who do not (why?). Studio always has done a great job with their PPT integration because they use the right terminology, and offer a TOC, offering non-linear for those that want it.

After all, you can have a great LMS, learning platform, or whatever you want to call your learning system, but the difference maker is good/great content. PowerPoint still reigns – If you are a course purist, the idea that PPT should be seen as an authoring tool should make you grumble with disgust. . Remember when only a few offered the PPT to Flash option in their tools? It has blown past social learning, and continues to roll. I know, smartphone lovers will disagree, but if you go back into 2010, how many authoring tools or platforms were offering m-learning despite the extensive growth of smartphones (which has been increasing for years)? Most people assume that Articulate, Lectora and Captivate are the best tools out there, that is no longer the case.
