Learning in Organizations Community

Jay Cross

You might get the real skinny on a vendor, an event, or a service by talking with someone who knows them from experience. People on the thin end of the Long Tail. Two years ago I set up a Google Group on Learning. Last night I wrote the members: You’re one of 1,797 members of the Learning in Organizations Community on Google Plus. Speaking and Workshop Services

Tony Karrer

In Learning, Extended Brain and Topic Hubs , I talked about the story behind the launch of Speaking Pro Central. The Future Business of Learning for Suppliers

Charles Jennings

The thought that any ‘vendor relationship management’ could occur with this number of suppliers was laughable. Training/Learning Vendor Rationalisation Working with some very competent procurement/sourcing colleagues we created a simple approach for reviewing and rationalising our supplier base. We then worked to consolidate as much of the work carried out by Approved Suppliers up to Preferred Suppliers and, in doing so, remove some of the ‘tail’ of approved suppliers.

The above long tail spreading is motivating because it shows a design that we commonly see in open digital platforms: some huge hits and a vast stretch of niche contributions. The vendors of iPaaS are Informatica, segment, Dell Boomi and much more. DMPs is providing Oracle, Adobe, and Salesforce but the stand-alone vendors are Neustar, DataXu, MediaMath, Rocketfuel and much more.
