Just read an article in the Guardian The long tail of blogging is dying (Found via Donald Clark ). And there are more good quality vendor blogs. I remember asking Product Vendor Blogs - Where are They? I'm sure that this will continue to change, but I would question the notion that long tail blogging is dying.

If you want to optimize total learner hours, then you make long courses aimed at lots of employees. It’s a bit scary for people who are primarily content vendors.

Anecdotally times are incredibly tough right now for training vendors. But I've talked to training vendors who are down 30 – 60% on their sales in the first quarter. In having lots of conversations with heads of training departments, training vendors, and training consultants, it's not at all clear what we should be selling instead.
