Documents for Days A great way to do that is by designing an interactive document that allows you to embed pictures, videos, fillable boxes, buttons and more. Maybe creating something a little out of the box, that adds more interactivity into the mix? This can be achieved by using Microsoft Word or Adobe InDesign to engage the learner.

Cross Language: Since videos ‘show’ pictures and can include subtitles they are much easier for non-native speakers of the language to understand. Low Costs: Video production costs have come down drastically in last few years. With camera phones recording a video is a breeze and at almost no cost.

I’ve been a movie and video nut for most of my life. Three high school friends and I produced a slew of super-8 movies that played to typically strong reviews (those I choose to remember anyway) in my high school. This reinforces the fact that we’re a society that loves moving pictures. We’re a captive audience.

Friday''s session about use of video for learning things showed that a mother look for it in a cookbook and her son looked on the Internet for a movie. Instead of reading the manual a movie will help you out.

Not a grouping of pictures that ask the learner to choose which is the right answer, whether process, action or straight knowledge. It would be similar to jumping into a movie while it’s being shown and working your way out again by uttering a magic word. You may not need to be that fanatic, but it’s a point to remember. A common theme in my books as well as my work is making good use of free and low-cost tools, and figuring out ways of doing things yourself. . Lately it’s Netflix since I can now stream movies via iPhone. I like Photogene for editing pictures. JB : I think that’s something of a false distinction.
