Note: I received absolutely nothing for linking to these products. I share specific products because I did a little research and relied on the ratings and reviews of others In 2015, I traveled roughly ten weeks for work and went on some solo backpacking camping trips for pleasure and sanity.

Managing Learning?

Charles Jennings

LMS technology emerged from a need to automate process management and record-keeping systems in the post-World War II era when the focus was on industrialisation and the development of mass production techniques. She sees the future of technologies supporting learning as a mash-up of social co-operation and collaboration tools aligned with the emerging social workplace. Donald Taylor recently published an article titled ‘ What does ‘LMS’ mean today ?’.

Why Your Organization Needs Collaborative Learning

NovoEd

Working together typically results in higher achievement and productivity; fosters more diverse, supportive and committed professional relationships; and creates a sense of belonging. It’s usually defined as two or more individuals working together to achieve a common goal, whether it’s solving a problem, designing a product or service, or completing a project. The timing is right for a mash-up of a collaborative learning system and an efficient, scalable online learning platform.

Using Data from Online Learning to Fuel Association Growth

Association eLearning

That really stuck with me and led me to dig deeper into how connecting eLearning data from members to the product and membership services can benefit your association. According to CIO.com , “The new cornucopia of public and private data is providing a new opportunity to mash up multiple big data sets to gain new insights beyond what a single big data set allows. Is this something that provides value but takes up more of your time than it should?

Monitoring team performance to drive success

Gameffective

With companies ranging from burgeoning startups to Fortune 500 corporations assuming ever-expanding organizational structures, being able to effectively monitor employee productivity is no small feat. If the employee’s production dips below that line, it will indicate that he or she are clearly coming up short due to nerves. They are all related to final products of the teamwork, or to individuals working within that team.

Digital Participation

Your Training Edge

These kinds of participation entail affiliation with the online platforms like Facebook, or games; the activities where participants are able to develop new kinds of expression through fan-fiction writing, zines, mash-ups, collaboration, where learners are able to work with one another to complete tasks or develop skills and knowledge, like when using gaming, Wikipedia and other activities and where users shape the flow or distribution of media via forms like blogging and podcasting [1].

Digital Interaction Design to Tangible Interaction Design

Upside Learning

Tangible interaction designers must use traditional interaction design, engineering, computing, and robotics in a mash-up of skills and methods. The simplest sensor is a switch; buttons dominate our interaction with electromechanical products. Artists, hobbyists and DIY hackers built entirely new hardware tool kits and platforms to make it easier to build and program working prototypes of products with embedded electronics.

Content as a Service

Xyleme

As instructional designers, we create our learning products, package them up with all the content and media, wish them well, and ship them off to the LMS’s – never to be seen again. And the possibilities for highly specialized apps for learning, performance support, and content mash-ups is nearly unlimited. Mash-ups and on-demand publishing. For better or worse, the development of learning content has been a one-way push process.

Learning with people, not technology

Jay Cross

The HR director explains “New employees are given time to look around and get to know the products, ask questions, go online, read literature and shadow experienced employees. People keep up to speed by attending short two-way sessions with a dozen or fewer colleagues on the job floor. ARTICULATE NON EST REX – 3 REASONS HIGHER ORDER LEARNING IS BEYOND THE MOAT

Wonderful Brain

What I call ‘low-level’ elearning is the product of 3 conditions; the desire to move content to delivery as fast as possible, using the most basic software tools from which this can be accomplished, and lastly if something important is being tee’d up online but the development tool isn’t up to the task, the organization puts up fierce resistance to deliver learning in a different medium. Them that invents can own the means of production.

Personal Learning Knowledge Work Environment

Tony Karrer

What this has come to make me realize is that for the vast majority of knowledge workers (including myself), there should be no separation between my Personal Learning Environment (PLE), my Personal Knowledge Management system, and my day-to-day set of tools that enhance my knowledge worker productivity. Maybe there are some distinctions between personal knowledge management, personal learning and knowledge productivity.

The debate about global warming still rages, but few of us would argue against the idea that things seem to be heating up, and it is affecting everyone’s behavior. ” Sometimes to their peril and sometimes to their benefit, animals are “packing up and moving,” as well as shifting the timing of seasonal events such as breeding, migration and coming out of hibernation to coincide with earlier springs and autumns.

Remix culture and education

Learning with 'e's

Sometimes several works are combined or 'mashed up' to create new versions. Garage Band for example, enables the production and reproduction of just about any musical instrument sound, and allows the user to mix these into a musical sequence. In my last blog post I illustrated a new model of digital literacies in the context of age of remix. Since then, several have asked me what I mean by remix culture, and how it applies to education.

The Business Web

Now, everyone agrees that the future of software is no software at all—but rather an industry dominated by tens of thousands of heterogeneous services delivering everything from traditional Office productivity to Verticals to VOIP to ERP and CRM systems. The reason is that The Business Web will be best known for its ability to easily create composite applications, or what is now popularly known as "mash-ups.”
