An API (Application Program Interface) enables an interface from a piece of software to communicate with another piece of software (in its simplest form) or multiple pieces of software (called a mashup). Twitter has APIs, so does Facebook, even Linkedin. APIs available in popular programs – SAAS. Facebook. Adaptive Learning with a Social Q/A twist. Mashups. Examples: Post your status update in Linkedin and it appears in Twitter.
