I thought I'd kick off this year by posting a series of posts on topics related to tools and methods for work and learning. I'm hoping to address questions such as: How do you create a personal tool set or Personal Learning Environment (PLE) for yourself? What are the most important methods to adopt in addition to the tools? First, let me say that we all have a tool set and a set of methods and frameworks that go along with that tool set.

I call it "Learner TechnoProfile."

Ray Sims has compiled a good list of resources on Personal Learning Environments ( PLE ). A quick view of PLEs as a learning method is presented by Graham Attwell (view his slideshow ). There are many dimensions to PLE and this thought has yet a long way to evolve. I shall continue my search. It provides us another way to look at how we can learn best with the abundance of Web 2.0 technology and Social Networking.

TWIDROID PRO I probably read my Twitter accounts more on my phone than by any other method. Okay, so that was more than 5, and I could add others yet (I've said nothing about having usable search in my pocket or gps enabled mapping), so let's leave it there and say it's a draw, eh? I have turned my phone in to a mobile PLE - that's a real powerful tool, right? Last October I signed up for an HTC Magic with Vodafone. It's been one of the best tech decisions of my life.
