Owned by Cornerstone OnDemand Knowledge Planet – Today – RIP (At some point Mzinga owned them) GeoLearning – Today? I can’t recall the first Articulate product, but Adobe soon launched Presenter, then Articulate down the road, many years, sent us, Studio. It was challenging to learn, but a great product.

Mzinga is going a different direction focusing on collaboration and social media capabilities. Mzinga certainly is way better as a product that my dire prediction. Kevin Oakes sounded the bell in Kevin Oakes on the Rise and Fall of the LMS as large LMS vendors began to move towards Talent Management.

Adobe has an active user group community, with over 700 groups that meet regularly to discuss products such as Captivate, Dreamweaver, Flash, and much more. Most of the well-known LMS vendors have user group meetings and/or conferences, including: Blackboard. Cornerstone. GeoLearning. Technology / Development-focused user groups.

I somewhat got this wrong as the big LMS vendors seem to now refer to themselves in terms of talent management and workforce productivity rather than innovating around the learning itself. However, there's Communities / Social Networking and LMS Merger announcement around Mzinga. So, there has been some innovation.

Mzinga’s OmniSocial product sort of fits the build, but it lacks some components, to what I see as a true system, specifically 100% standalone, since it can also be integrated into a LMS or used in their own LMS. I will admit that the one of the best products I have seen this year, does what I am listing above - SCORM Cloud.
