What I like about conferences is the ability to see the latest products and hear the pitches from the vendors. Regardless, you need to have your product out and showing. Yet, for all that do it, their are equal number of vendors who do not. their own sales folks) and type of product they are pitching.

Why are some vendors making it impossible? Why are some vendors treating you as a spy or something sinister when you just want to try out the product? You would think that with over 140 authoring tools on the market, vendors would want you to try out their product before dropping any type of cash. Trial by Fire.

Long has tools such as Studio and Captivate been on the higher side, the same can be said for vendors such as Rapid Intake and dominKnow. Because other vendors are getting into the act as well. What is an equal frightening event is when authoring tool vendors do not even list their pricing on their page. So why the fear?

Bewildered on what is happening, why what is needed isn’t appearing as it should, and how is it possible that something so obvious based on where e-learning is heading, mobile is pushing and future tech is inspiring is lost among so many vendors? And therein lies one of the issues, that is showing up with many, many vendors.

The number one reason people leave their current system or purchase a different e-learning product? Every time I see a product, two statements seem to be universal. If I am a potential customer, I would expect nothing less to come out of the vendor’s mouth on their product and user friendliness. Common complaints.

elearning maker - another product form e-doceo; screenwriting, storyboards, media inserts, selection and moving of elements plus more; a beginner could use some of the features, but a developer has some additional capabilities and flexibilities. The authoring tool vendors will say their products are for everyone. Bottom Line.
