Big publishers are having problems as the cost of distribution goes towards zero and as that brings along a ton of competition from the low end. OCW, OER) as part of their internal learning. Most of the OCW content appears to come under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 Doesn’t that run you into the problem described above? There were a few exceptions such as Stanford Engineering Everywhere with a CC-BY license. But, I think this really turns into a question of the implications of CC-BY-NC-SA.

And a big part of the problem is just how many there are and how fast they change. I was also struggling for clients who needed very simple learning tracking but with some customizations. Marketplace LMS solutions don’t quite fit. Neither do more complex solutions.

The nice thing is that the tools from Articulate and Adobe have really matured to the point where you can do a lot quickly and without too many problems. Prediction #9 => Open Content I’m not sure why this already hasn’t had a bigger impact, but workplace learning is going to start to catch up on the value of OCW and OER.
