Hot Lava, which was recently acquired by OutStart, is now offering a free version of their m-learning development tool. My guess is that OutStart will be making significant improvements to the software, so why not offer the current version free as a teaser. OutStart Trainer - I am currently using another DHTML editor in which I am not enthralled at all. m-Learning development tool that produces courses compatible with ALL mobile platforms. High end microphone - It will come in very handy for adding audio to courses, plus it will look great on my desk.

The cloud has also grown, but I see in five years much more robust development tools on the cloud. There are already great cloud tools out there, but I think we will see more e-learning development tools at the level of Flash, Captivate, Articulate, OutStart Trainer, etc. on the cloud.

Oracle in short fashion soon made an announcement that employee recruitment, training and management tools would merge with Fusion, which is a Human Capital management software. They purchased Outstart, a LMS. Oracle then followed suit by acquiring SuccessFactors who had acquired Plateau in the past. What about Kenexa? They are a HCM.

I was scheduled to attend a demo of Outstart’s LMS, but project deadlines got in the way, and my workgroup took a half day off to go wine tasting.
